What is EFT?
The Emotional Freedom Technique is a member of a new class of treatment techniques and protocols referred to as Energy Therapies. While still considered experimental, these techniques are being used by therapists, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists and lay people worldwide. To date, these Energy Therapy Techniques have yielded exceptional results in the treatment of psychological and physical problems.
EFT is a form of psychological acupressure that uses light tapping instead of needles to stimulate traditional Chinese acupuncture points. The tapping on the designated points on the face and body is combined with verbalizing the identified problem followed by a general affirmation phrase. Combining these ingredients of EFT balances the energy system and appears to relieve psychological stress and physiological pain. Restoring the balance of the energy system allows the body and mind to resume their natural healing abilities. EFT is safe, easy to apply and is non-invasive.
Our Body’s Energy System…
Shuffle your feet across a carpet and then touch an item made of metal. Sometimes you can see the static electricity that is discharged from your fingertips. This wouldn’t be possible unless your body had an electrical nature to it.
If you touch a hot stove, you can feel the pain instantly because it is electrically transmitted, at the speed of electricity, along the nerves to your brain. Electrical messages are constantly sent throughout your body to keep it informed of what is going on. Without this energy flow, you would not be able to see, hear, feel, taste or smell. The EEG and the EFG records our brain and heart electric activity and when we die, we flat line, and no longer have a flow of electricity. Some 5000 years ago, the Chinese discovered this complex system of energy circuits that run throughout the body, These energy circuits, or meridians as they are called, are the centerpiece of Eastern health practices including acupuncture.
In the same way, EFT gives you striking evidence that energy flows within your body because it provides the effects that let you know it is there. By simply tapping near the end points of your energy meridians you can experience some profound changes in your emotional and physical health. These changes would not occur if there was no energy system.

EFT is not only available to us for those acute situations that are having a clear negative impact on our life. We experience a wide range of emotions almost on a daily basis, sometimes making it hard to focus, or to perform at our optimum. The EFT process works to physically release negative emotions leaving us with an ability to think and act more clearly which results in a positive improvement in our attitude which then in turn attracts more positive events. EFT improves our self-image and when used consistently makes a huge difference in our life.
